Location: Estoril, Portugal
Phase: Completed 2011
Size: 160 m2
Design: Structural Design
This is a renovation project of a house built in Estoril. The renovations to be carried out are aimed at providing housing for greater comfort, mobility and safety, and are essentially:
1. The extend of the garage;
2. The construction of a tunnel and connecting it to the garage;
3. The construction of a swimming pool;
4. The strengthening of the interior floors and the change of the interior staircase;
5. The recovery and transformation of the kitchen.
The structural solutions taken into the building under study are solutions of traditional reinforced concrete made "in situ" and metal profiles to situations where the architecture seeks lighter and slender structural elements. The interventions can be divided into two distinct groups:
1. Interventions in the garage and exterior spaces;
2. Interventions in the interior of the house.
